The Power of Promiscuous Pairing

This workshop was given at Agile & Beyond 2014 and provides a lively experiment in promiscuous paired design. A brief overview of pairing is provided, with positives, negatives and a clear focus on what problems "pairing" is intended to solve. Then, the activity begins and we asked people to get into groups of about 6. The activity has people work as a pair and then re-pair and re-pair again as they build on previous work. After each paired activity, each person reflects on their pairing experience and how they made their partner look good and vice versa and that feedback is shared between partners. The intent is to show people that working with others, quickly and creatively, can help make work more fun and more productive while providing an opportunity to practice feedback skills.
